What is the best triple glazing on the market?

Triple glazing is big news among UK homeowners. But whose is best? Hear why we think ours hits the mark.

With a market share of around 60%, triple-glazed windows are already the standard in many parts of Northern Europe and Scandinavia.

And now, the good news has reached homeowners in the UK. Thanks to its extensive list of practical and economical benefits, triple glazing is becoming more and more popular on these shores.

Improved energy efficiency, increased security and reduced noise pollution are but a few of the advantages of investing in triple glazing.

And your options won't be limited. There are plenty of triple-glazing products on the market.

But, of course, not all of them are created equally.

How can you be sure that you're investing in the best?

At Calder Windows, we truly believe
our triple glazing is the best of the best.

We've spent the last 30+ years installing doors and windows in Yorkshire. We've seen many products come and go – including plenty of glazing technologies. And we can confidently say that we've never seen a product that offers such energy efficiency gains and all-around value.

"Of course", you might be thinking, "they would say that." And sure – we might be a little biased. But stick with us for a few minutes and we reckon you'll be right on board. Here's why.

What separates our triple glazing from the rest

1. We use extra-thick (and extra-efficient) triple-glazing units

Triple glazing involves using three panes of glass for each window, with two insulating gas-filled spaces in between. In essence, it does all the good things double glazing does – only better.

Most triple-glazed windows on the market today use 28mm-thick units. This is the same thickness as most forms of double glazing.

At Caldow Windows, however, we use a unit that's 43% thicker than the standard. This extra thickness creates a more effective thermal barrier, so you can expect greater gains in energy efficiency.

Not only that, but we're among the best installers in the business. Thanks to our craftsmanship and attention to detail, you'll be reaping the benefits of your triple glazing for many years to come.

2. It offers better thermal insulation

Our triple glazing offers some of the best thermal insulation you can get.

Picture of someone looking cosy by a window.

Around 18% of heat loss in the average UK home is through its windows. But with our 40mm-thick units, you could improve the thermal efficiency of your windows by a huge 40%.

And this efficiency works both ways. Our triple-glazing system will help keep your home cosy and warm through the cold winters and cool and fresh during hot summers.

The result? A more comfortable living space all year round.

3. It complies with U-value regulations – and then some

Since 2022, UK building regulations have required new builds to have a
U-value of 1.2 W/m²K or lower. The government introduced these new regulations in a bid to reduce carbon emissions.

Our triple glazing would give your windows the incredibly low U-value of around 0.7 W/m²K. Not only does that more than comply with regulations, it will also help you reduce your carbon footprint – and save money while you're at it.

4. It meets the UK's highest possible energy rating

Our triple glazing is certified to the best possible energy rating of A++ on the BFRC scale.

For you, this doesn't just mean improving the look and feel of your home. It means cutting emissions and lowering your heating bills, too.

In fact, with tightening government regulations and soaring energy costs, there's no better time to make the change to triple glazing.

5. It reduces noise pollution

Excessive noise pollution can have a number of negative effects on your health and day-to-day activities – namely stress, sleep disturbances and reduced productivity.

Calder Windows' extra-thick triple-glazing system can help to make your home your sanctuary by dampening the thrum of traffic and minimising noise pollution.

6. It lessens the risk of damp

The additional glass pane and insulating space in our triple glazing can help reduce condensation in your home, lessening the likelihood of nasty water damage.

Minimise the risk of damp and mould and the potential health risks associated with them. Choose our glazing solutions and you can make your home an altogether more comfortable, healthier place to be.

7. It improves security

Enjoy extra peace of mind with our robust triple-glazed windows.

Not only can you expect a sturdy, high-quality installation, but the windows themselves are also designed to be a problem for any would-be intruders. The vast majority of our windows feature highly secure multi-point locking systems, while our doors are fitted with three-star euro cylinder locks from Yale.

8. It may increase the value of your property

Energy-efficient homes are becoming increasingly desirable. Thinking about selling your home in future? Our triple-glazing system doesn't just save pounds on your energy bills – it can also add value to your home in the long run.

9. It's very hard-wearing

Our triple-glazing system is weather-resistant and built to last. In fact, we're so confident in our product and the skill of our installers that you'll be covered by a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee as standard.

10. It looks great

With Calder Windows, you can choose from an extensive range of colours, styles and decorative glass panels. It's all about making sure your triple glazing is the perfect match for you and your home.

11. It's an investment that makes sense

Due to the added manufacturing complexity and additional materials needed, triple glazing typically costs a little more than double glazing. However, the extensive list of benefits – including increased energy efficiency and added curb appeal – make it an economically sound investment.

Get triple glazing for the same price as double glazing

Good triple glazing makes sense. But it comes at a price – most installers charge more for triple-glazed windows than their double-glazed counterparts.

But does it have to be this way? Do you
have to pay more to get triple glazing installed?

Not with Calder Windows. Right now, we're offering a
free triple glazing upgrade  for all new customers in Yorkshire.

This means you can get all the cash-saving benefits of triple glazing
for the same low price as double glazing.

If that sounds too good to be true, well… actually this time it
is true. We really are offering triple glazing at no extra cost to our valued customers.

But hurry – this offer might not stick around forever. To claim your free triple glazing upgrade, simply
